Ray Rumsam (Drums) Ray was born in Cardiff, South Wales, and currently lives in Penarth. He is the lyricist and vocalist of the band, and also plays the drums and percussion. The first band he was involved in was with his brother in the '80s. After writing a dozen or so songs they formed a band named Death Sentence.Their first gig was venued at Talbot Green and it certainly sentenced them to death when it was announced that the local chippy was about to close - the venue emptied! Undeterred by the "take away" disaster, they went back to the drawing board and wrote another set of songs, with various other musicians under the name of Fury's Child. Ironically, the band blew itself out before their first gig!
During the '90s Ray worked with a Cardiff guitarist called Stuart Earp. It was whilst working with Stuart that a friend of Stuart, a percussionist called Brad, introduced Ray to Mike Pugh and Lindsay Matthews. They formed a band called Sixes and Sevens, to which they recruited a drummer named Jeremy. After some time of changing guitarists the band started to fall apart, and Sixes and Sevens finally threw in their towel. They sold their "outboard gear" and eventually decided to work together as a studio band.Ray uses the following kit:
